a path to breast cancer awareness

Join us for the Pink The Lake - A Path to Breast Cancer Early Detection & Education.  Imagine a sea of pink on a leisurely walk in support along scenic Geneva Lake Shore Path around beautiful, historic Geneva Lake - a world-renowned Wisconsin gem just north of Chicago.  Known for its pristine waters, elegant summer estates and storied past, the Geneva Lake area has long been a retreat for the famous and a haven of natural beauty.

This inspiring walkathon is dedicated to raising awareness, education and funds for the importance of breast density as it relates to breast cancer, early detection and survival.  Walk with friends, organize a team or meet like-minded supporters along the way.

Pink the Lake for a Purpose

All proceeds raised will be divided equally between two not-for-profit organizations (501c3) who are influential in their missions to raise awareness for breast cancer early detection and education. Wisconsin Breast Cancer Coalition and My Density Matters - both work passionately towards this cause.

According to My Density Matters, "The denser the breasts, the higher the risk of developing breast cancer." Yet, patients are often not given specific information about their breast density classification or the significance of breast density when receiving their routine mammogram results. Additionally, "A mammogram can miss up to 50% of cancers in dense breasts."

More awareness is needed about additional measures that can be taken to diagnose breast cancer. The rate of breast cancer is on the rise. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, "Breast cancer is the most common cancer in American women, except for skin cancers. It is estimated that in 2024, approximately 30% of all new female cancer diagnoses will be breast cancer."

We're excited to bring together our community to support this vital cause. Your generosity will make a real impact, and we can't wait to see you there.

Let's make a difference and have some fun along the way! THANK YOU!
